Blow Down

Paul used both a drone and a fixed GoPro to film the blow down of three high-rise apartment blocks.

This particular commission brought a number of additional safety issues: the GoPro had to be installed inside the safety cordon hours ahead of the event; the shock wave almost knocked the GoPro rig over; with the drone in the air the dust cloud came up to meet it and the drone had to be flown away from the scene to maintain line of sight but out of the dust which would have damaged the rotor motors. Obviously we can only show a few frames in the printed magazine.
