I picked up my first ‘serious’ film camera in my late teens to photograph Rock Bands and then a little later, landscapes and wildlife. In those days, film and processing were expensive so I supplemented my hobby by capturing the odd wedding, baby photos, portraits and creating portfolios for people in my home studio.
After many years, I took a break as a photographer.
About 10 years ago, an unusual opportunity arose,I then realised how much I missed being a photographer and the pleasure it gave me.
Rejuvenated, I threw myself back into landscape and wildlife photography and I have never looked back.
In 2018, Barney our Golden Retriever, joined our lives and my photography took a very noticeable turn down the path of capturing our 4-legged-friends and their families. This is something I'm very passionate about and I strive to get the picture people want. So, if you are ever up in the North East and see a photographer lying flat out in the mud or up to his thighs in water, taking dog photos, the chances are it will be me trying to get that perfect action shot.
