Hi, I'm Dana 👋, a photographer based in Reno, Nevada, USA, available for photography services across the surrounding areas.
Dana Garrett is a fine art photographer whose passion for photography began at the age of seven after watching his father develop photographs in a home darkroom. What started with childhood experimentation has grown into a lifelong creative pursuit, producing award-winning work exhibited across the United States.
Since dedicating himself to photography in 1999, Dana has presented numerous solo exhibitions in Monterey, California, earned multiple honours in the Monterey County Fair Photography Contest, and was a five-time finalist in the prestigious Black and White Spider Awards, an international competition celebrating black and white photography.
His work has also been selected for leading international art exhibitions, including Art San Diego, ArtEXPO New York and Art Santa Fe.
A retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, Dana served for more than 30 years as a Meteorologist and Oceanographer aboard amphibious assault ships supporting Marine Corps Expeditionary Units. His background has fostered a deep appreciation for the natural world, light and atmosphere, influences that continue to shape his photographic vision.
Now based in the Virginia City Highlands near Reno, Nevada, Dana continues to create distinctive fine art photography inspired by his surroundings and a lifelong passion for visual storytelling.
